Development:
Who it’s for: 1st-9th graders new to field hockey or looking to grow fundamental skills in a supportive, joy-filled environment.
What it includes:
Weekly training sessions for ~10 weeks.
2 Play Days to put skills into action in fun, relaxed game settings.
Integrated Play Beyond the Game lessons focusing on character and emotional growth.
ADM Alignment: Development programs follow the ‘Discover’ and ‘Play and Learn’ stages of USA Field Hockey’s American Development Model (ADM). These stages emphasize exploring the sport, developing fundamental skills, and fostering a love for the game through age-appropriate, fun activities.
Outcomes: Athletes build essential field hockey skills, understand game rules, and gain confidence. Development fosters new friendships, a love for the game, and foundational skills that extend beyond the field.
Academy:
Who it’s for: 5th-12th graders with 2-3 years of experience or by invitation, ready to enhance tactical understanding and compete in tournaments.
What it includes:
Weekly training sessions for ~10 weeks.
2 Tournament Days for structured, competitive gameplay.
Tailored Play Beyond the Game lessons focusing on leadership, teamwork, and equity.
ADM Alignment: Academy programs align with the Compete and Improve’ stage of the ADM. This stage emphasizes advanced skill development, understanding team tactics, and introducing structured competition to foster growth and confidence.
Outcomes: Athletes develop advanced technical and tactical skills, gain competition experience, and build confidence while fostering a deeper appreciation for teamwork and strategy.
Performance:
Who it’s for: 10th-12th graders with varsity-level experience seeking to master high-level skills and compete in a challenging environment.
What it includes:
Weekly or specialized training sessions for ~10 weeks.
2 Tournament Days in competitive settings.
Advanced Play Beyond the Game lessons on leadership, mindset, and mental performance.
ADM Alignment: Performance programs align with the ‘Seriously Fun/Peak Performance’ stage of the ADM. This stage emphasizes mastering advanced skills, optimizing mental and physical performance, and preparing athletes for high-pressure competition while ensuring enjoyment remains central.
Outcomes: Athletes refine their skills, trust their decision-making in high-pressure situations, and balance sports with other pursuits. Lessons extend into academics, relationships, and professional growth.
