All three ECFH teams played in a tournament at Shippensburg this weekend. The coaches saw good things in all three teams’ games, and saw things to work on as well.
Big props go to ECFH: Great Falls, the greenest team, for playing in their first games ever! I think all players are a little jealous of the level of hockey that PA gets, as some spots where our players are from are still fighting for hockey on the high school level.
That’s why, as a club, it is really satisfying to provide opportunities like these to make all our girls better, and hopefully help raise the bar for field hockey in Northern Virginia.
The NOVA junior team is really starting to step it up and the U-19 team is coming together with some excellent passing in the midfield.
Check out some pictures of the U-19 team today on Beyond Sticks’ facebook page. While you’re there, don’t forget to ‘like’ us! (Coach Chrissy was too busy coaching Saturday to remember to take pictures of the younger players. She’ll try to remember at Christopher Newport next week!)
All artsy photos credit to our good friend Juan, whose company is arranging our tour to spain this summer.
Finally, before you start your week, Coach Chrissy’s dog and NOVA’s mascot, Basil, wants you to know that she is ready to go in!
